A dark haired young male human is contemplating his whisky cup. His name is Theoderic de Berranger. He winces at the thought of that last name, de Berranger. He abandonned that name some time ago, he could not live with the shame that Leutfrid de Berranger, his father, brought to his name. Twice tragedy hit his family and twice his father demonstrated his cowardice.

Theoderic first lost his mother to burglars when he was a child. Not only his father was too drunk to wake up in time to defend his mother, but he did not demand justice when his native Baldur Gate's law enforcement dropped the investigation. Then, a few years later, his younger brother was kidnapped and lost his life when his father, once again, failed to act and save him.

At that point, it was clear Theoderic could not be a part of the de Berranger family anymore. Leaving Baldur's Gate as soon as he could would be the only way forward. He decided to finish the knighthood training he started as the family's elder son and put it to better use. His journey led him to Waterdeep, as he overheard from local guards that his brother's case had been dropped because the perpetrators originated from Waterdeep and they did not want to get involved in the metropolis' politics. He also figured that opportunities to right wrongs would come aplenty in a city like Waterdeep, so he joined The Watch as an obvious place to start. He however soon realised that the Waterdeep's Watch was more interested in politics and bureaucracy than actually fight for justice, just like their Baldur's Gate counterparts.

So now, Theoderic offers his services to anyone who has been wronged and anywhere retribution was needed, all the while keeping an eye out for the ones responsible for Dagaric's death so he could find them and make them pay. At this point, he lets go of the crude wooden humanoid shaped amulet, grimacing as his cramping hand slowly relaxes.

"That's right little brother. We will find the bastards and we will make them pay. We will make them pay with their lives." Just then, he downed his whisky, looked up and nodded in acknowledgement.
